Choose one of the options for the topic Option #1 ~ Porter’s The Great Train Robbery AND Melies’s A Trip to the Moon (these movies must be used in conjunction with one another.) Some things to consider:

 Why is this film important in history/equipment necessary, etc.

 What exactly is the innovation?

 How did this film possibly influence others that followed it? Option #2 ~Analyze either The Jazz Singer, Singin’ in the Rain, OR The Sound of Music. Some things to consider:

 Sound as an innovation/equipment invented, etc.

 Sync vs. non-sync sound

 Problems, snags

 Why were musicals as a genre so popular? What are the elements of a musical? (This is especially important for The Sound of Music) Use examples that link with the Musical Genre definition from notes. 2-3 (Not including Works Cited page) full pages, typed and double spaced MLA or APA format Outline:
