I don’t understand this Law question and need help to study.

Students will write a short paragraph along the lines of https://thisibelieve.org/This topic will be something that has meaning to the student. Also post 2 response statements provided1- I believe in compassion. I believe in having the ability to empathize and put yourself in the shoes of another, be it whomever, a comrade, a family member, a victim, and even a criminal. I believe in humanity and rehabilitation. People shouldn’t be written off or cast away due to mistakes that they have made along the way. We are humans, and compassion is something we need more of in this world to make it a better place for humanity.
With compassion comes respect, empathy, sympathy, kindness, and amongst many things of the sort. I believe in associating one’s own emotions with that of what others may be going through. I think that the world would be a better place if more people adopted that mindset. Compassion promotes unity and inclusivity, which I believe are traits of a thriving society.
Growing up in Brooklyn during the 90’s I first hand witnessed how the lack thereof compassion for one another, the reckless disregard for human life, and a lack of respect for one another is a toxic society. Thankfully, as a result of a loving household and having a good role model in my older brother, I overcame obstacles set before me, went away to college, and grew as a person. With age and wisdom, I realized the importance of compassion because a little of it could go such a long way. When looking at someone and in initial interactions, it is impossible to fathom the complexity of the trauma or burdensome baggage that they may lug around daily. Knowing how to speak to people may lead to desirable outcomes for you and could be the only positive interaction they had in their day.2- I believe in public service. There is no greater sense of joy or fulfillment than when one gives back to their community and helps to contribute to society. When one chooses to walk down a path of selfness for the greater good of those around them can one truly live a life of purpose.Growing up I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life or what career to choose. However, I found the answer I was looking for through community service. In my teens I used to volunteer at my church and through their outreach program helped the less fortunate in the community. In addition, while doing my undergraduate degree, I became the Community Service Director for my honor society where I set up events in the community so that our members could volunteer and give back. Through community service I discovered I loved helping people. It gave me a new perspective on life and helped foster within me a sense of belonging.Due to these experiences, I knew I wanted a career in public service. It is for that reason I choose a career in law enforcement. With my time as a NYPD officer, I came to understand just how much an impact one can have on the lives of others. Interacting with the public, I got to know the community and what the current issues were and how we could make a difference to make their lives better and the community safer. When it comes down to it, compassion and understanding can go a long way. If we all learned to work together and help one another in our greatest times of need, the world would be a better place. Performing one act of kindness and helping those around you can inspire others to do the same. Working together, we can solve a lot of the social problems that exist in our world today but at the same time make each and every one of our own personal lives more rewarding and instill within ourselves strong core values.
