Atmospheric air enters the air compressor of a CCPP system at 100 kPa and 300 K. The air compressor’s pressure ratio is 10, and the gas cycle’s maximum temperature is 1400 K. Isentropic efficiencies of the air compressor and turbine are 90% each. The gas leaves the HRSG 30 K hotter than the saturation temperature of steam in the HRSG. Steam pressure in HRSG is 6000 kPa, and it leaves the HRSG at 600 K. The steam-condenser pressure is 30 kPa and the isentropic efficiency of the steam turbine is 95%. Design Considerations Design alternatives are to be considered to provide power for an industrial setup using a CCPP as shown above with maximization of 1st law efficiency as the objective function. Your study must consider the effect of various parameters e.g. pressure ratio of the Brayton cycle, Boiler and condenser pressure for the Rankine cycle, and the highest cycle temperature, etc. The discussion should include the major advantages and disadvantages of this system?
