Step 2 – After you have chosen an example of Institutional Abuse or Systemic Racism find two articles or pieces of evidence that show where things currently are (2022) regarding this issue. Stats, new legislation, advocacy, etc.

Step 3 – Create an infomercial, song, tiktok/social media post, poster, skit (video) or your own creative idea. This must include: • The promotion of an existing advocacy group or campaign directly related to this material provided to you attached below • If there isn’t a current campaign highlight who people can write to or reach out to in order to advocate for change • Highlight why things need to change • Why your audience should care • How to get involved and why they should • Relevant stats, references and details to help make ls to help make your point (use what you found in step 2 and add more if necessary) Please use APA to reference your sources. You need a minimum of 2 references

Step 4 – Advocacy Letter Preparation – Prepare with details statistics, references and main points the plan for an “advocacy letter” or letter-writing campaign. This must include: • Who will you be writing to and why • Their full name, title, rank etc. • Their mailing address and/or email address • Main points you would cover in a fully written advocacy letter – in point form • Relevant stats, references and details to help make your point (You do not have to actually write the letter , but respond the questions for 4 steps above.)
